At Hawthorne Animal Hospital, we are guided in our work by three core values that shape our care of pets, their families, and each other. It takes the oath we made as veterinary professionals and turns it into actionable solutions that improve the lives of everyone around us.
When a pet is facing a life-threatening emergency or recovering from a procedure, Hawthorne is here and available anytime they need us, regardless of the time of day. We don’t base our patients’ care on what the clock says – we do what is best for them. This ensures pets aren’t shuffled around when they don’t feel well or go home before they’re ready. We take the time to treat them, and if needed, provide them with a safe place to stay in our hospital so they can be monitored by a caring and attentive medical team.
The best way to care for pets is to properly diagnose their condition. We don’t believe in leaving our patients’ families with more questions than answers – we strive to get to the root cause of the illness or injury and offer a team-based approach to treatment. While we want to, we can’t cure every condition, but we can create a patient-centered care plan focused on improving a pet’s quality of life.
Our team doesn’t just care for pets, we care for the community we live in. We want to be the best neighbors possible and to leave our world better than we found it. Hawthorne partners with a variety of causes and nonprofits throughout Madison County and the Metro East, especially those focused on animal protection and welfare, youth programming, and first responders. In addition to providing financial support, we volunteer alongside our fellow community members to drive change from the ground up.
